Organic ground flaxseed (linseed) is a very popular whole food which has been cultivated for over 6000 years.  You may sometimes hear these little nutrient dense seeds being called linseeds - they are exactly the same thing.

One 30g serving of organic ground flaxseed is high in protein, fibre, B1, magnesium and manganese.  Flaxseed is actually one of the richest sources of plant based omega 3 fatty acids (also called alpha-linolenic acid - ALA).

You can buy organic whole flaxseed which are best soaked or ground before use.  If you prefer the convenience of using it straight from the bag then this ground flaxseed is the best choice for you.

You can simply sprinkle the ground linseed over porridge or yoghurt for a nutritional hit.  Flaxseed is also a great binder so it can be added to soups or stews to help them thicken ors
