DI Ruth Hunter is called in to track ‘the Towpath Ripper’ down – before they strike again. The list of suspects soon dwindles and everything points to one person. Just as Ruth is about to pounce, they slip through her fingers. Ruth and her team pursue the serial killer into North Wales in an increasingly dangerous game of cat and mouse – but how do you catch a killer who’s always one step ahead? The Llangollen Killings A Llangollen farmer, Aaron Jenkins, is found shot and DI Ruth Hunter is called in to track down the murderer. The local community is rocked and whispers swirl about adultery: both Aaron and his wife were having affairs. But when there are several more violent slayings, Ruth realises that the murders might be bigger than a domestic concern and these may just be the beginning of a long and bloody gang battle. It’s not long before Ruth and her team are stuck in a lethal conflict with armed suspects, racing against the clock to prevent yet another cold-blooded shooting. The Wirral Killings When a Wrexham based businessman is found murdered across the border in Heswall on the Wirral, Ruth and her team must work with Merseyside Police to solve the crime. It seems that a fatal accident on a local building site might provide the motive. But Ruth discovers that a gang in Birkenhead have been using intimidation to steal valuable machinery. Could they be behind the killing? With dangerous suspects on the loose and the ever-present threat of another murder looming, Ruth must solve the case, and soon – before she ends up with blood on her hands. The Abersoch Killings At his beautiful beachside mansion Jack Rush celebrates his stepdaughter’s wedding: an extravagant, happy day. But that night, the movie producer is found dead in a pool of his own blood. He snorted cyanide instead of cocaine. With security tight, DI Ruth Hunter and DS Nick Evans are looking for a suspect among the guests. Jack’s wife knew of his many infidelities; his twin sons resented his control; and Charlie, the new son-in-law, was furious about the prenup. The Bala Lake Killings A local MP is murdered by a far-right extremist gang in Snowdonia. DI Ruth Hunter and DS Nick Evans arrest one of the killers, Raymond Clarke, who agrees to give evidence if he and his family are taken into protective custody. Ruth is sure they’ll be out of harm’s way in the remote wilds near Bala Lake. About the Author: Simon McCleave is a bestselling crime novelist.
